What it is

Lumbago
Lumbago, or low back pain, can stem from a variety of causes. Those suffering from lumbago can include younger people whose work environments or other activities induce back pain. In older patients, lumbago usually results from wear and tear on spinal bones and cartilage.

Herniated Disc
A herniated disc (also referred to as a protruding or extruded disc) is a condition where a portion of the gel-like center of the disc has migrated through the layers of the annulus fibrosus.
Degenerative Disc Disease
Degenerative disc disease is a state of dehydration and deterioration marked by the gradual erosion of the discs ability to distribute and resist mechanical loads. As discs deteriorate, they become more prone to injury from physical stress.

Slipped disc
A slipped disc, also known as a prolapsed or herniated disc, is where one of the discs in the spine ruptures and the gel inside leaks out.

Sciatica
Sciatica is a condition often associated with a herniated or ruptured disc. When the injured disc compresses one of the spinal nerves leading to the sciatic nerve, it can produce a shock-like pain that travels through the buttocks and down one leg to below the knee.

Spinal stenosis
Spinal refers to the spine. Stenosis is a medical term used to describe a condition where a normal-size opening has become narrow. Spinal stenosis may affect the cervical (neck), thoracic (chest), or lumbar (lower back) spines. The most commonly area affected is the lumbar spine followed by the cervical spine.
